Continuous School Improvement (CSI) is an ongoing process that helps schools focus their efforts in support of their mission and goals. Student performance and school/community data is analyzed and used to develop plans to ensure all students are learning and progressing toward achievement of academic standards.
The CSI Leadership Team meets on Thursdays. Parents are always welcome!
The Population of students at Wilson is mobile and the faculty realizes that Wilson students must learn to adapt and become independent and increasingly self-reliant. The staff at Wilson Elementary School recognizes the changing needs of our students and is committed to adapt instruction to meet the needs of our unique population of learners. Our currents school improvement plan focuses on two areas of identified need, they are reading comprehension and math problem solving.
Our accrediting agency, NCA CASI, is part of the unified organization AdvancED who's focus is to help member schools continually improve student performance and school conditions. Their accreditation standards and process are based on:
To educate, engage, and empower each student to succeed in a dynamic world.
To serve the needs of Our Military's Children so that they will excel in learning and life.
By June of 2014, all students will solve mathematical tasks and demonstrate their mathematical thinking and reasoning by using problem-solving strategies as measured by the Problem Solving rubric, Terra Nova 3rd Edition Scholastic Math Inventory.
By June 2014, all students will improve reading comprehension using the strategies matching readers to appropriate text and through use of explicit fluency instruction as measured by age appropriate quarterly assessments including the BAS Reading List (K), the BAS Fluency assessment and rubrics (grades 1–5), the Scholastic Reading Inventory (grades 3-5), and the Terra Nova, 3rd Edition (grades 3-5).
