Superintendent's Corner
Welcome to the Georgia/Alabama school district. We are proud of the educational opportunities offered in our system. Our focus is on improving academic achievement for all students while supporting the mission of our military families. The military command, school board and parents provide wonderful community support to us and we feel fortunate to serve the families of our military sponsors.
STEM has STE(A)M at Ft. Benning Schools. All school are feverishly planning their annual STEMposium. Each school will have at least one day where they have STEM activities in which the students will participate.
Some schools have devoted an entire week wrapped up with guest speakers, field trips and carnivals.
Below are the dates for each school, please confirm the dates and times with the school before making plans to attend as dates are subject to change.
Dexter - April 22-26 Activities planned throughout the week

Fort Rucker Primary School
The Fort Rucker Primary school is off to a great start ! The teaching staff at FRPS is comprised of highly qualified teachers who believe that children are the top priority. The students are able to participate not only in a high caliber education but other activities as well.
FRPS is preparing for their upcoming accreditation external review. Accreditation assures DoDEA Schools are focused on raising student achievement, providing a safe and enriching learning environment, and maintaining an efficient and effective operation. Accreditation provides an independent, non-governmental validation that our schools are effectively delivering quality education services to our students.
Fort Rucker Elementary School
The FRES is also off to a fantastic start. The students and teachers are back and ready to go!

Maxwell AFB Elementary has officially changed its name.
Maxwell AFB is now the proud home to Maxwell AFB Elementary/Middle School (MEMS).
In July 2011, Maxwell Elementary added two new grade levels making the school a Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade school. The transition from elementary to elementary/middle school has been seamless.
Our year began with a series of noteworthy events.
- MEMS is very proud to announce the selection of a their new administrator, Mr. Robbie Swint. Read more
- MEMS is very proud to be working this year toward becoming a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) School.
- MEMS has received new laptops to help with their online foreign language program for the middle school as well as to be used in conjunction with their STEM initiatives.
