Sexual harassment is not only destructive behavior, IT IS AGAINST THE LAW. The Federal Government has issued guidelines on sexual harassment, which state that sexual harassment is illegal under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Sexual Harassment is Defined as:
Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature constitute sexual harassment when:
- submission to such conduct is made either explicitly or implicitly a term or condition of employment,
- submission to or rejection of such conduct by an individual is used as the basis for employment decisions affecting such individual, or
- such conduct has the purpose or effect of reasonably interfering with an individual’s work performance or creating a hostile, intimidating, or offensive work environment.”
There are two types of sexual harassment.
The law does not differentiate between the sexes.
