
![]() Far East BasketballFar East Basketball is divided into four separate tournaments which are held beginning on Presidents’ Day in February. DoDEA hosts the championship tournaments and invites international schools to compete. The four tournaments are held for: Each tournament consist of two days of pool play and are followed by single elimination for the championship. Awards are given to the top 5 teams along with 15 players on all-tournament teams. |

Far East Basketball History ![]() Boys Division 1 Basketball is the oldest of all the DoDEA Pacific Far East events, the first being held in 1949. The Narimasu Dragons of mainland Japan were the 1949 Far East Champions. Girls D2 (at the time Large Schools) tournament was the second of the Far East Basketball tournaments starting in 1976. In 1983 the Boys Small Schools tournament began, now known as Far East D2 Boys Basketball. Girls D2, was the last of the four Far East Basketball tournaments to be established in 1990.
