Sailors, Students help environment one tree at a time

Students from Cmdr. William C. McCool Elementary and Middle School (MEMS) received special help as they planted trees at the Marine Barracks National Monument on U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG). Sailors from the forward-deployed submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40), Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 and NBG Security helped MEMS students’ with the project. The students planted five trees as part of the education initiative known as STEM, which stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
