Douglas McEnery
ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA — June 6, 2005 — The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) proudly announces that Douglas McEnery has been named the 2005 DoDEA High School Principal of the Year. Mr. McEnery is currently the principal at Aviano High School in Aviano, Italy. The Secondary School Principal of the Year Program is sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals(NASSP).
Principal McEnery earned his Bachelor of Science in English Education from the University of Kansas, and Master of Science in Counseling Education from the same school.
Douglas McEnery has been described by USAF Brigadier General Breedlove as a "leader in helping to force strong partnerships with the Aviano community." "He has also been instrumental in the development and implementation of the school's "Ladder for Success", a program that has been effective in improving student's grades. "Mr. McEnery's dedication to DoDEA is exemplary" said Dr. Joe Tafoya Director of DoDEA, "his commitment to his students and staff make him truly deserving of this recognition."
