Educational Aide Qualifications
- One year of general experience
(General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of an Educational Aide, such as preparing letters, schedules other documents, and assisting with the preparation of instructional materials.Â
Or
- Education in lieu of experience
Education may be substituted for general experience with 2 years (60 semester hours) of education above high school.Â
Or
- Combination of Experience and Education
A combination of education and general experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.Â

Day to Day Duties
An educational aide's duties may vary by position.
- Monitoring students during various phases of school day.
- Provide tutoring to students in all subject areas.
- Supports educational efforts in the Special Education classroom and general education classroom as needed.
- Works with students in accordance with plans developed by the specialist and educator.
- Preparing instructional materials related to classroom lessons.
- Performs administrative tasks such as filing, scheduling, and reviewing assignments.
- Distributing/collecting testing materials as needed by students.
- Grading/providing testing results using identified scoring techniques.
