Professional Learning
Vision:
Provide equitable access to a high-quality system of professional learning that empowers adult learners across the agency.
Mission:
Develop a sustainable and unified system of professional learning that builds capacity in support of learner success.
Functions:
- Connect across the agency to provide a systemic approach to professional learning, ensuring alignment, equity, and coherence.
- Collaborate to build capacity for designing, delivering and evaluating high-quality, research-based professional learning.
- Coordinate systemic leadership development programs to enhance instructional leadership at all levels of the agency.
Division Overview:
In pursuit of the aforementioned vision, mission, and functions, the Professional Learning Division is comprised of the following three specialties:
- Professional Development
- Leadership Development
- Instructional Design, E-Learning, and Graphic Design
As a team, we support the professional learning needs of DoDEA Headquarters and partner with the Centers for Instructional Leadership (CILs) and districts to improve teaching and learning. The Professional Learning Division advocates and supports system-wide learning, ensuring products are standards-aligned, build capacity, and focus on improving performance. We support stakeholders through consultations, professional development and training products, instructional design, and graphic design. In addition, as an effort to support school principals and other leadership positions, the Leadership Development Program provides support for the continued implementation of professional learning among DoDEA's leadership.
