Education Policy and Operations

What We Do

The Education Policy & Operations Division provides support that touches almost every facet of DoDEA from establishing Director-led policies to procuring books for every classroom.

We provide guidance, support, and oversight for student registration/enrollment, the student information system, and student education records. We also provide pre-and post-award procurement support for a host of student and teacher resources, oversee the student activity fund program for participating schools systemwide, and provide editing support for the important work of the Education Directorate.

Student Activity Fund Program

Money raised by students and parents to support extracurricular activities must be handled safely, legally, and transparently.

These non-appropriated funds are accounted for by the Student Activity Fund (SAF) Program. DoDEA HQ offers this free, voluntary program to secondary schools only. Over 60 schools participate (October 2023).

For more details about the SAF program and instructions on how to establish one for your school, please refer to this document: Student Activity Fund Program Information
