Daniel Cassel
Biography
Daniel Cassel is very excited to begin serving the Spangdahlem community as the Assistant Principal at Spangdahlem High School.
Dan spent his undergraduate career earning degrees in Psychology and English Composition. He then earned post graduate degrees in Teaching, English Education, Curriculum & Instruction, and Educational Leadership & Supervision.
Dan began his teaching career in Ferguson, Missouri, working with students placed in “alternative school programs”. He then moved to Fulton, Missouri to teach English Language Arts. After learning about DoDEA from his wife, who had attended DoDEA schools as a child, Dan was excited to accept a teaching job in Incirlik, Turkey. Dan is currently in his 14th year with DoDEA; he has taught in Turkey, Korea, and Japan and worked as an ISS in Europe East, DoDEA Headquarters, and Americas Southeast.
Dan loves working with schools. He believes everyone is always learning something and classrooms are unique places where intentional learning occurs. There is a joy unique to learning which makes schools very special places to Dan. He believes play is at the heart of all teaching and learning.
When Dan is not working, he enjoys time with his wife, daughter, and son.
Dan is looking forward to serving the students, parents, and teachers at Spangdahlem High School as they continue to fulfill the DoDEA promise to Educate, Engage, and Empower every student, every day, everywhere.
