Dr. Amy Dilmar

Biography

Dr. Dilmar’s experiences in DoDEA started at Quantico in 2010 as an instructional specialist. She worked for the New York/VA/Puerto Rico offices, before moving to Vicenza, Italy. In Italy, Dr. Dilmar was the school improvement specialist for the Mediterranean District, serving five countries in four different time zones. She was promoted to assistant principal in 2014 at Faith MS and served from 2014-2016. She was assistant principal at the middle school and then moved over to elementary, where she helped to open the newest 21st Century school at the time, McBride ES. Dr. Dilmar led Stowers Elementary schools through Covid, rising from assistant principal to principal in 2020. Dr. Dilmar was assigned as the new principal of Faith during the summer of 2023. 

Prior to DoDEA, Dr. Dilmar served in public schools as a teacher, curriculum specialist, graduation coach, and Title 1 specialist. In addition to being the principal of Faith Middle School, Dr. Dilmar also works for the University System of Georgia as an adjunct professor. Dr. Dilmar is intimately familiar with the life of an Army child, with her stepfather serving for 20 years in the Army. Dr. Dilmar is committed to the education and social-emotional wellness of military-connected students.
