Dr. Courtney Roberson

Biography

Dr. Roberson has over 25 years of qualified combined experience in Instructional Management, Operations, Leadership, and Student/Parent/Staff Relationships.

Dr. Roberson began her career in 2002 teaching Kindergarten and Prekindergarten (PK) grade levels respectively at Pecan Springs Elementary in the Austin Independent School District. In 2006, she was named Assistant Principal at the same campus. In 2008, Dr. Roberson relocated to Spring, Texas in support of her husband’s military career. She was named Assistant Principal of Sam Houston Elementary in the Conroe Independent School District. Within a year, she aided the school’s advancement from a “Recognized Rating” to an “Exemplary Rating” according to the standards of the Texas Education Agency.

In 2012, Dr. Roberson returned to the Austin Independent School District and was named the Founding Principal of the J. Frank Dobie Pre-Kindergarten Center. She was nominated for Principal of the Year in the Austin Independent School District for three consecutive years and was also nominated for the National Distinguished Principals Award with the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA) in 2017. Dr. Roberson then accepted the position of Assistant Principal at William D. Travis Early College High School in the Austin Independent School District. In 2018, she served as Training Specialist/Adjunct Faculty Member with the Directorate of Training & Doctrine at the U.S Army Maneuver Center of Excellence at Fort Benning, Georgia. During this tenure, she improved the curriculum for adult learning by fostering a deeper understanding of the Army Learning Model.

In 2020, Dr. Roberson was selected as Assistant Principal for Morris R. McBride Elementary located at Fort Moore, Georgia. As an instructional leader, Dr. Roberson played a crucial role in preparing the staff for the Cognia District Accreditation in 2024. Her collaboration with the school principal was instrumental in supporting the staff throughout the continuous school improvement process. As a result of their joint efforts, McBride ES received recognition for their collaborative planning and successful implementation of district initiatives in writing, mathematics, and social-emotional learning.

Dr. Roberson earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Business Administration from Southwest Texas State University in December of 2000. She earned her Master of Arts Degree in Education/Administration & Supervision from the University of Phoenix in November of 2005. Dr. Roberson earned her Doctorate Degree in Education Administration (EC-12) with Superintendent Certification from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in December of 2020. She resides in Ellerslie, Georgia with her husband, SFC (R) Trent Roberson, and their daughters, Lauren & Iyanna Roberson, who attended DoDEA schools.
