Dr. Courtney Schonffeldt
Biography
Dr. Courtney Schonffeldt began her DoDEA career as a student teacher at Mannheim Elementary School in Mannheim, Germany. As the daughter of a retired marine, Dr. Schonffeldt found pride and great responsibility in serving military children and families and joined the DoDEA team the following year. Dr. Schonffeldt has over 20 years of service with DoDEA. She has worked as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, literacy specialist, Instructional Systems Specialist, and school administrator. Over the years, Dr. Schonffeldt has served in schools in Germany, Japan, Italy, and Spain.
Dr. Schonffeldt holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership. She also holds multiple certifications as a gifted resource, math specialist, and literacy specialist.
Dr. Schonffeldt and her husband, Rodrigo, are the parents of two beautiful girls. As both a parent and an educator, Dr. Schonffeldt believes children deserve a learning environment that fosters physical, emotional, academic, and social well-being. Dr. Schonffeldt is honored to serve as Principal at Rota Middle High School.
