Dr. Mannie has had the privilege of serving children, families, and educators for over 25 years. She has worked as a special education teacher, an instructional specialist, assistant principal, and principal at the elementary and secondary levels. She has also led an academic program for court-involved youth and served as a director of programs for exceptional children. She has earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Sciences from North Carolina Central University, a master’s in education in Special Education from George Mason University, a Professional Studies Endorsement in K-12 Education Administration from the University of Virginia, an doctorate in Education and Leadership Administration from Walden University, and holds a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach certification.
Dr. Mannie leverages her professional experiences and skills to champion strategic initiatives that enhance professional learning and performance, increase student achievement, and strengthen family engagement. She enjoys cultivating meaningful community partnerships that are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of students.
Dr. Mannie is proud to come from a family with a strong lineage of military service. She is the daughter of a former Navy Seaman, the stepdaughter of a late Army Sergeant First Class, and the granddaughter of a Korean War Veteran.  When she’s not at school, Dr. Mannie enjoys spending quality time with her family and engaging in community service projects as a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, and the North Carolina Central University Alumni Association.
She looks forward to joining the Crossroads Elementary School community and continuing the legacy of creating a safe and welcoming environment where military-connected students thrive and excel.
