Dr. Kendra M. White
Biography
Dr. Kendra White is an educator with 22 years of DoDEA experience. She began her DoDEA career in Okinawa and worked at Kadena Elementary School, Bob Hope Primary School, and Amelia Earhart Intermediate School educating students for 12 years in grades two, three, and six. Her last assignment before administration included working with striving readers grades three through five at Amelia Earhart Intermediate School as a Read 180 teacher and Literacy Support Specialist.
Dr. White’s administration career began in August 2011 when she left Okinawa and became the Assistant Principal for Bitz Intermediate School and Johnson Primary School at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. While in Lejeune, she served as the Assistant Principal for Johnson Primary School from 2012 through 2014. During school year 2014-2015, she was promoted to Principal of Heroes Elementary School, the 21st Century Pilot School for Camp Lejeune. Dr. White left her principalship at Heroes Elementary School to accompany her Marine Corps husband on his tour to Okinawa. She was very fortunate to continue with administration as the Assistant Principal at Lester Middle School from 2015-2017. In August 2017, Dr. White was promoted to principal at E.C. Killin Elementary School. She served the E.C. Killin community for four years until being appointed principal of Kadena Elementary School in August 2021.
In 2010, Dr. White earned a Doctor of Education Degree with a major in Instructional Leadership from Argosy University, School of Education, Sarasota, Florida. In 2001, she earned a Master of Science Degree in Foundations of Education with a Concentration in Educational Leadership from Troy State University, Asian Division. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Florida, Jacksonville, Florida
Dr. White states, “I am honored to serve the men and women of our military and military-connected community by working with their remarkable children and helping families develop a sense of home in an overseas location. I am eager to return to Kadena Elementary School (although in a new building) where my DoDEA roots began over 22 years ago.”
Dr. White is married to retired USMC LtCol Brian White. Together, they are raising two children on Okinawa: Karsyn and Katelyn.
