Dr. Kimberly Kelly
Biography
Dr. Kelly is excited to join the Daegu Warrior community and the Pacific West team bringing over 24 years of experience as an educator and leader to the assistant principal position. Prior to joining Daegu MHS, Dr. Kelly served as a school counselor at Yokosuka MS, Japan for the past five years.
Before joining DoDEA in 2018, Dr. Kelly served as a teacher then a school counselor in Texas, and in South Carolina, as a school counselor and Freshman Academy Administrator. Always with a desire to empower and inspire others, Dr. Kelly’s goal as an educator and leader is to help others reach their maximum potential by fostering a culture of trust, collaboration, and personal growth. She contributed to each learning environment by serving in roles such as a teacher evaluator, teacher mentor, continuous school improvement (CSI) committee member, school improvement committee (SIC) member, CSI data chair, department chairperson, school testing coordinator, and coordinator and/or sponsor of various support programs. Whether as team lead or team member, Dr. Kelly knew that combining skills, knowledge, and efforts these opportunities afforded her the opportunity to work collaboratively to solve problems, make decisions, complete tasks, and design innovative solutions that benefit both the teachers and students.
Dr. Kelly holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, Secondary Education from Abilene Christian University, a Master of Science degree in School Counseling from Midwestern State University, a Master of Arts degree in Secondary School Leadership from Furman University, and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and a Doctorate in Education in Curriculum and Instruction both from Liberty University.
A US Air Force Veteran, Dr. Kelly served her initial enlistment at Plattsburgh AFB, NY, Comiso ASN, Italy, and Lowry AFB, CO. After serving four and one-half years of active-duty service, Dr. Kelly joined the Air Force Reserves and served faithfully at Shepherd AFB, TX, Tinker AFB, OK, JB Charleston, SC and a deployment to Kyrgyzstan prior to retiring with over 23 years of service.
Dr. Kelly is the proud mother of two adult children, Michelle and Jeremiah. She loves spending time with her family and friends, traveling, “window” shopping, spreading kindness, and maintaining a healthy mental and physical lifestyle. Dr. Kelly is blessed to have the opportunity to serve the Warrior community and looks forward to joining the team in fostering a culture of continuous improvement that will benefit both teachers and students.ring a culture of continuous improvement that will benefit both teachers and students.
