Dr. LaRhonda Ware
Biography
Dr. LaRhonda Ware brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her role as Acting Principal of West Point Elementary School. Â She joined the West Point Community as an Instructional Coach and is happy to contribute her expertise in support of our elementary school students and to continue her own learning journey as she fosters a culture of growth and excellence.
Dr. Ware holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in English Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her passion for teaching and learning led her to pursue a Specialist’s Degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Georgia and a doctorate degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of West Georgia.
Her academic journey reflects her commitment to continuous improvement and lifelong learning. Dr. Ware’s teaching career began in Richmond, Virginia, where she taught Language Arts and Speech courses. Her impact extended beyond the classroom as she collaborated with curriculum development teams and district administrators. Relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, she continued to make a difference. In Fulton County and later in Gwinnett County schools, she served as a mentor teacher, grade level team leader, and technology coach. Her contributions extended to district-wide initiatives, including the development of common assessments and Common Core curriculum resources. Dr. Ware’s leadership skills were further honed during her tenure on the district strategic planning committee.
In 2012, Dr. Ware joined the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA). Her diverse roles within the organization include serving as an English Language Arts ISS in the Mid-Atlantic and Pacific East Districts, a professional learning ISS in the Mid-Atlantic District, and a virtual schoolteacher for DoDEA Virtual High School. She has also supported educators and leaders in the Pacific region as a Professional Development Specialist through the Center for Instructional Leadership. Dr. Ware’s experience as an Assistant Principal at Osan Elementary School and Brewster Middle School further enriched her leadership perspective.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Ware is a devoted wife and proud mother Her belief in the power of education and her strength-based approach to coaching educators continue to drive her work. Dr. LaRhonda Ware embodies the spirit of lifelong learning, and her passion for education shines through in all she does. She joins the West Point Community with enthusiasm and anticipation of the positive impact she, along with the teachers and leaders, will have on military-connected students.
