Dr. Lynsey Lee
Biography
Dr. Lynsey Lee is a data-driven, student-centered educator who values teamwork and helps students develop the skillset needed to become self-directed, lifelong learners in a supportive environment.
Dr. Lee earned a bachelor’s degree with a double major in English as a Second Language and Linguistics from the University of Guam. She holds a master’s in English from the University of Guam, an M.Ed. in Administration from Lamar University, and a doctorate in Composition and Applied Linguistics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Lee began her teaching career at a public school in Guam, where she taught ESL Math and ESL Language Arts and served as the ESL Coordinator. She joined DoDEA in January 2015 at McCool Elementary Middle School on Naval Base Guam. She later taught at Humphreys West Elementary School on Camp Humphreys, Osan Middle High School on Osan Air Base, and Quantico Middle High School on Marine Corps Base Quantico. During her time with DoDEA, she taught Chinese, Drama, English, Humanities, ML (formerly ESOL), and Speech. Additionally, Dr. Lee has taught collegiate courses in academic writing, communication, and Korean as an adjunct professor.
Within DoDEA, Dr. Lee has held multiple leadership roles, including serving on the CSI leadership team, internal review team, school emergency management team, Humanities standards workgroup, and others. She advised student organizations and participated in numerous Far East academic events as a planning committee member and instructor. She has also represented teachers as the Faculty Representative Spokesperson and as a district board member for the teacher association in Korea.
Outside of DoDEA, Dr. Lee's work has included developing curricula and assessments, conducting educational research studies, analyzing large-scale research data, and delivering professional development. She has presented at academic conferences and authored scholarly publications.
Dr. Lee is dedicated to creating a positive and welcoming school culture that prioritizes academic achievement and the wellbeing of students. She looks forward to building strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff, connecting with stakeholders, and serving the Quantico community.
