Dr. Mary Anne Hartley

My family and I are excited to be a part of the Wiesbaden Community! I am honored to be joining the leadership team at Wiesbaden Elementary School as an Assistant Principal! 

My educational journey began with earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in professional counseling, followed by a master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, and culminating with a doctorate in Educational Leadership. 

For over a decade, I have dedicated myself to serving as a school counselor in both elementary and secondary schools, primarily working with military children and their families. I served the Fort Cavazos community from 2007 to 2020. Since August of 2020, I have served as the Elementary Counselor at Rota Elementary in Rota, Spain. My public-school experiences and tenure with DODEA have given me a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities faced by our students and has strengthened my resolve to support their academic and personal growth.

Outside of my professional life, I love to spend time with my family. My husband Peter and I will have three children in the Wiesbaden community schools. The Hartley family loves taking care of and enjoying our small “zoo” of animals. I grew up a veterinarian’s daughter, so as you can imagine we love learning about animals and watching nature documentaries at the Hartley house! Other family favorites include playing board games together, reading, exploring new places, and enjoying meals with friends. My family and I cherish our time together and we can’t wait to explore the vibrant community of Wiesbaden!

I am excited to collaborate with the talented staff, dedicated parents, and most importantly the wonderful students at Wiesbaden Elementary School. Together, we will strive to create an inclusive, nurturing, and academically challenging environment where every student can thrive. I cannot to wait to meet all the students and families at WES! I hope to both share and inspire others with my love of learning!
