Julienne DuBenion
Biography
Ms. Julienne DuBenion is an enthusiastic and strategic instructional leader who brings 17 years of diverse educational experience to the role of Assistant Principal at Aviano Elementary School. Ms. DuBenion is an advocate for excellence in education and is committed to the work of DoDEA’s mission and vision.
Ms. DuBenion began her career as an educator with the Norfolk Public Schools System in Norfolk Virginia. Her journey with DoDEA began in 2010 as an elementary teacher at Fort Stewart in Hinesville, Georgia. Prior to its closing, Ms. DuBenion also had the privilege of serving the Fort Stewart community as the Math Specialist at Brittin Elementary. In 2016, Ms. DuBenion accepted a position with the Europe South District in Vicenza, Italy where she had the privilege of serving as the Instructional Systems Specialist (ISS) for PK-5 Science and K-5 Mathematics.
Ms. DuBenion earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. In 2005, she graduated from Regent University with a master’s degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment (K-12 Reading Specialist). Feeling the call for leadership, Ms. DuBenion continued her studies at Regent University earning an additional master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Management, and Supervision (K-12). Ms. DuBenion also has several other certifications in areas of Mathematics, Science, and Instructional Coaching which adds to her diverse and unique skill set. Ms. DuBenion is currently working on a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership and Coaching.
Ms. DuBenion believes that every child has unique strengths, gifts, and talents. And with support, all children can realize success, built on the spirit of hope, inner strength, enthusiasm, and persistent determination. The proud mother of two DoDEA students, Ms. DuBenion feels honored for this opportunity and is looking forward to serving the students, staff, and community at Aviano Air Base.
