Mr. David Popielski

Biography

Mr. Popielski grew up in Western New York. He began his educational career in Lemmon, South Dakota after serving eight years in the United States Marine Corps. He taught high school sciences in the Lemmon School District, before teaching chemistry at Chief Dull Knife College in Montana. He became a DoDEA teacher in 2010, teaching AP chemistry and chemistry at Yokota High School in Japan. Mr. Popielski enjoyed coaching the Varsity Track & Field Team, coached Middle School wrestling, and was co-chairperson of the Continuous School Improvement (CSI) team. In 2016, he became an assistant principal at Ramstein High School, where he helped to develop multiple School Action Plans to improve student achievement and has enjoyed the challenges involved in opening a new school.

Mr. Popielski earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from The University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Education Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Montana State University, a Specialist in Education Degree in PK-12 Administration from The University of South Dakota and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Maryland Global Campus.

Mr. Popielski believes that all students can reach their full potential in a nurturing environment and is dedicated to putting what is best for students at the center of everything he does. He also believes in building teacher capacity to provide all students with quality educational opportunities. Furthermore, he holds a deep value in empowering teachers, parents and students with a transparent decision-making process; these efforts foster trust and a strong sense of community.

Mr. Popielski is the proud husband of Lori Popielski, who served in the U.S. Air Force, and is the proud father of one amazing son, Edward John (EJ); German Shepherd, Bob; and Dachshund, Daisy. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, hiking, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills.
