Mr. Jason Pals
Biography
Mr. Jason Pals was born and raised in central Illinois and has spent his entire educational career, spanning 28 years in the special education field. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from Eastern Illinois University and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville. Â
As Assistant Principal, Mr. Pals has taken on many building and special education initiatives to include MTSS coordinator for K-2 grades, special education supervisor, and building 504 coordinator. Mr. Pals’ time as an assistant principal has been very rewarding because of the students and staff in the building.
While serving as a full-time educator, Mr. Pals also served in the Army Guard/Reserves. During his initial Army years, he learned team building skills as a 13B, Field Artillery, along with completing the Airborne course and leadership academy. These early military endeavors helped instill a sense of pride and self-discipline that continues to benefit him. After 13 years in the Army Guard/Reserves, Mr. Pals transferred to the Air National Guard, continuing to serve in a variety of leadership roles such as First Sergeant, Squadron Superintendent, and Group Superintendent. Mr. Pals is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant (E-9) in February of 2022 with 32 years of honorable service.
Mr. Pals has been married for 28 years to his wife, Kerri, and they have four children: Addison, Nathan, Owen, and Eli. His oldest two kids are college graduates and are also serving in the military today. Addison is a special educator and has been selected to become an Air Force Guard/Reserve KC-135 pilot. Nathan is a military intelligence analyst with the Navy Reserves and works for NGA. Owen is currently attending college and Eli as a sophomore in high school. Â
Mr. Pals is excited to join the DoDEA, Ft. Liberty, and Hampton primary school team. He looks forward to once again working with the military community and our most valuable assets, the kids.
