Mr. Shawn Rodman
Biography
Mr. Shawn Rodman is excited to join the teachers and staff as Principal at SHAPE High School.
Mr. Rodman earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Utah and a master’s in special education from Utah State University. He has spent much of his career developing and adapting curriculum for students that struggle with traditional educational methods.
Mr. Rodman started his education career in 1988 working in the Youth in Custody program in Salt Lake City at a young adult correctional facility. He came to Germany in 1998 as a Special Education Teacher and coach at Hohenfels Middle High School where he was selected as the Bavaria District Teacher of the Year in 2006, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars European teacher of the Year in 2006 and 2012. He also coached football, tennis, basketball and soccer. In 2015, Mr. Rodman began serving as the Assistant Principal at Vilseck High School where he focused on equity and increasing student involvement in the Advanced Placement program.
Mr. Rodman and his wife Jody have three children: Meggie, Ian and Aedan. He enjoys golfing, traveling with his family, and taking long walks with his wife and their dog Bo.
