Ms. Amy Phillips
Biography
Ms. Phillips brings more than 25 years of experience in education to Iwakuni. She joined DoDEA in 2020 as an Instructional Systems Specialist for ELA/Social Studies supporting Guam and Pacific West schools. In 2021, Ms. Phillips joined the Misawa Dragons on Misawa Air Force Base as assistant principal.
Prior to joining DoDEA, her work in education work spanned 22 years in Texas schools serving students, families, and her community through roles in teaching, coaching, curriculum support, and school leadership. Ms. Phillips holds a BA in English from Texas Woman’s University, a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of North Texas, and a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
A lifelong educator, Ms. Phillips is honored to serve military-connected children and families through her work in education.
“I am gratified by the opportunity to work alongside the educators and families of Iwakuni Middle School,” Ms. Phillips said. “All that we do to support and educate our military-connected students is critical, and it is a joy to see our children thrive through the care and expertise that our educators bring to our classrooms and communities.”
