Ms. Jilleane Beard-Archie
Biography
Dr. Lisa B. Coleman, the Department of Defense Education Activity Community Superintendent for Georgia-Alabama is pleased to announce Dr. Jilleane Beard-Archie as Assistant Principal of Ellis D. Parker Elementary School in the Southeast District at Fort Novosel, Alabama. Growing up as a military DoDEA-educated child and working as an educator has allowed her to work with students and people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and needs. Dr. Beard-Archie will assume her duties on November 6, 2023.Â
Dr. Beard-Archie began her teaching career in 2005 at Jenkins-White Elementary Charter School (JWECS) in Richmond County Schools of Augusta, Georgia, where she taught third, fourth, and fifth grades. In 2010, she transitioned from public education to DoDEA schools at Fort Knox, Kentucky, as a fourth-grade teacher at Macdonald Intermediate School. She then transferred to Kadena Elementary School in Okinawa, Japan, where she taught fourth grade and became a Professional School Counselor. Dr. Beard-Archie has also been awarded Teacher of the Year at JWECS and a Teacher of the Year Finalist for the Kentucky District at Fort Knox.
Additionally, Dr. Beard-Archie has served on leadership teams, allowing her to be a consultant, coach, and collaborator. She has designed and presented multiple presentations at the school and district levels on differentiation, small-group instruction, de-escalation strategies, and Student Support Teams, to name a few. With a robust knowledge of special education laws, processes and procedures, teacher mentoring, and instructional practices, Dr. Beard-Archie is adept at fostering strong working relationships with members of the local and school communities.
Dr. Beard-Archie obtained her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, and her master's degree from Cambridge College in School Counseling. She defended her Dissertation, "Investigating Middle School Teachers' Experiences in Inclusive Classrooms," in 2020, earning her Doctorate Degree in Curriculum, Assessment, and Instruction from Walden University. She is also a member of the Association of School Counselors, and Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia and is a proud member and State Director for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.
Jilleane and her husband have two DoDEA-educated children and a dog. Her family is excited to move to the Fort Novosel area and become part of the Paker Patriots Family. Dr. Beard-Archie is honored to serve military families at Parker Elementary School as Assistant Principal.
