Ms. Kharmayne Kannada

Dr. Lisa B. Coleman, the Department of Defense Education Activity Community Superintendent for Georgia-Alabama is pleased to announce Mrs. Kharmayne Kannada as Principal of Ellis D. Parker Elementary School in the Southeast District at Fort Novosel, Alabama. Mrs. Kannada will assume her duties on January 14, 2024.

Kharmayne Kannada earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Science and Master of Science in Human Resource Management from the University of Maryland University College. Additionally, Mrs. Kannada earned her Master of Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University. She also completed two Florida Department of Education approved programs for school leadership and is a trained instructional coach through the University of Florida Lastinger Institute. Mrs. Kannada is certified in School Principal, Educational Leadership, Elementary Education K-6, with an English for Speakers of Other Languages endorsement.

Mrs. Kannada was raised in a military family. She is an Army Veteran and became an educator shortly after returning from Germany with her family. Mrs. Kannada began her teaching career in Florida in a kindergarten classroom in 2006. In addition to kindergarten, she taught third grade, fourth grade and fifth grade. Mrs. Kannada also served as an Instructional Coach, Math Coach, Assistant Principal, and District Specialist. Mrs. Kannada had the amazing opportunity to be the founding principal of an Extended Language Model charter school in one of the largest districts in Florida. All of Mrs. Kannada’s experiences contribute to DoDEA’s mission to educate, engage, and empower students to succeed in a dynamic world.

Kharmayne has been married to her husband for almost 20 years and they share four children. Kharmayne believes all children can achieve greatness in a supportive climate and culture that is conducive with learning. She looks forward to serving the Fort Novosel community as the leader of Parker Elementary and working alongside the talented school team.
