Ms. Mary Fisk
Biography
Ms. Fisk brings many educational experiences with her to Yokosuka Primary School. She has worked in the elementary setting as a teacher and school counselor in both public schools and charter schools. Ms. Fisk began her DoDEA career in 2012 as a school counselor at MC Perry Elementary School. After working as both a classroom teacher and school counselor in Iwakuni, she was promoted to assistant principal at the Sullivans Elementary School in 2019. For the past three years, she has had the honor of leading Ikego Elementary School as the school principal.
Serving in various leadership roles throughout her educational career, Ms. Fisk has maintained a focus on nurturing the whole child. She has positively impacted the growth of military-connected students by implementing school-wide strategies to support literacy, mathematics and social/emotional learning. For Ms. Fisk, community involvement is critical to students being college and career ready. Her collaborative leadership approach is beneficial in engaging community stakeholders to ensure student success. Her enthusiasm and dedication for education will support Yokosuka Primary School students’ love of learning.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Ms. Fisk holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Kindergarten Education from the Pennsylvania State University. She received a Master of Education in School Counseling from George Mason University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from George Washington University.
Ms. Fisk enjoys traveling with her three children, Aubrie (11), Preston, (9) and Tyler (6). She is excited to continue serving the Yokosuka Community and the DoDEA Pacific East District. Ms. Fisk is looking forward to cultivating strong relationships with the students, staff, families, and community members, building Yokosuka Primary School together.
