Ms. Mary Mullins

Biography

Ms. Mullins brings her passion for educating, engaging, and empowering children to Kadena Middle School. She is inspired by the resilience and bravery of the military connected students she serves. She promotes high expectations paired with appropriate support in order to help each learner define and achieve success.

Ms. Mullins leverages the importance of having a growth mindset to encourage everyone to be lifelong learners. She emphasizes the significance of relationships while connecting and collaborating with students, staff, and the community. Her shared leadership approach provides opportunities for growth and aims to celebrate all stakeholders.

Ms. Mullins brings a multitude of educational experience to Kadena Middle School. Over the years, she has found a passion for Social Emotional Learning. Her broad experience with SEL has resulted in a proactive nurturing and individualized approach to her work.

Ms. Mullins has held various positions in her tenure which focuses on the individual needs of all learners. She has worked as a teacher in Colorado Springs and Germany, before stepping into her administration role in the DoDEA Pacific Region. Most recently, Ms. Mullins was the principal of Matthew C. Perry Primary School in the Pacific East District.

Ms. Mullins earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a dual major in Psychology and Sports Management from Denison University in Granville, Ohio. She obtained a master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. She subsequently obtained a second master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education in Leadership with a concentration in Instructional Leadership from American College of Education in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Ms. Mullins values quality time with her husband, who is a U.S. Army Veteran, as well as their three children. She enjoys embarking on new adventures, photography, sports, and making memories with her family. Ms. Mullins is eager to join the Wolverine community to build partnerships with the students, staff, families, and community members.
