Ms. Thelberstine Barbee
Biography
Ms. Thelberstine Barbee serves as the Assistant Principal at Albritton Middle School. Prior to coming to Fort Bragg, she served as the Assistant Principal at WT Sampson School stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Before that, she served as the AVID Instructional Systems Specialist for DoDEA Americas stationed at Fort Campbell, KY serving both the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast Districts for almost 3 years. Her teaching experience spans the DoDEA globe. She was an educator at Spangdahlem Middle School in Germany, Daegu American School in Daegu, South Korea and Ramey School in Aguadilla Puerto. Ms. Barbee is also an experienced administrator, having served as the Assistant Principal at Ramey School in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico (SY 2014-2017); 2 Interim Asst. Principal assignments in the KY District one at Barsanti Elementary School located at the 101st in Fort Campbell in 2017 and the other at Fort Knox High School in 2018.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Tuskegee University and a Master of Science Degree from the University of Tennessee in Biological Chemistry. Her work history includes working as a Quality Control Chemist at Block Drug Company, as a Research Specialist at the University of Tennessee, Dept. of Anesthesiology and at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in the Department of Virology and Microbiology (research on the H1N1 Flu virus), and teaching in Northwest Tennessee. Her work experiences and educational background continues to inform the way she supports and assists programs and DoDEA initiatives in college and career readiness through her coaching, teaching and learning. Ms. Barbee considers Union City Tennessee and Aguadilla, Puerto Rico “home” and her immediate family includes her daughter Olivia, sister Teresa, and niece Yolanda.
