Ms. Ploeger is a passionate educator who has been in the profession since 2001. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin in 1999. In 2004, she earned a Master’s degree in the Art of Teaching (MAT) with a focus on Educational Technology from National-Louis University. Ms. Ploeger also has certification in Developmental Bilingual Education, School Administration, and Curriculum & Instruction.
Ms. Ploeger began her teaching career as a pre-K teacher in a transitional ESL program in Wisconsin. Her classroom experience extends from pre-K through fifth grade in Title I schools in Wisconsin and Miami, Florida. Before joining DoDEA in March of 2021, Ms. Ploeger served as a developmental bilingual teacher working with students from Latin America new to the United States, a bilingual education and ESOL district instructional coach in Madison, WI, and as a school administrator for five years. In 2021 she joined DoDEA as the Mid-Atlantic ISS for ESOL, based in Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico. In 2022, Ms. Ploeger joined the administrative team as the assistant principal of Crossroads ES on MCB Quantico. Beginning in July 2024, Ms. Ploeger served as the acting principal at CES where she had the pleasure of helping prepare the school for its upcoming Cognia accreditation this May.
In her free time Ms. Ploeger enjoys hiking, swimming, traveling, learning languages, and practicing cosmetology. She is one of eleven siblings, so she loves to return to Wisconsin to visit the crew when the opportunity arises.
Ms. Ploeger looks forward to supporting our military-connected students, collaborating with staff and families, and learning Korean!
