Biography

Dr. Rachel Lanquist

Dr. Rachel Lanquist is honored to join Naples Middle High School as the Assistant Principal. Dr. Lanquist has worked more than 15 years in education in the United States, Mexico, and most recently in Japan prior to moving to Naples, Italy. Dr. Lanquist joins NMHS from Naples Elementary School where she served as the Assistant Principal for Special Education.

Throughout her career, Dr. Lanquist has worked in diverse roles including teaching in 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and middle school science. Passionate about STEM education, she partnered with educators to co-create and implement technology-enhanced learning projects as a technology educator and an Integration and Innovation Specialist. Dr. Lanquist is a Google Trainer, an Apple Educator, and was the first Common Sense Educator for Digital Citizenship in Mexico. Her expertise led her to present at international conferences and develop district curriculum in 6-12 STEM Pathways.

Dr. Lanquist is committed to fostering a positive and inclusive school culture of continuous learning and improvement. As a Behavior Specialist then a Coordinator for Student Services, she headed the special education department utilizing data to inform instructional and intervention strategies through Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Building Assets, Reducing Risks (BARR), and restorative practices.

Dr. Lanquist’s research on the continued disproportionality of underrepresented populations in STEM career fields has led her to encourage and advocate for females to enroll in science and math courses in high school to expand post-graduation opportunities for a future of limitless potential.

Dr. Lanquist holds a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership in K-12 Administration from Bethel University, a Master’s of Education degree in International Education from Framingham State University, and a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a Mid-level Science Endorsement from Bethel University. 

When Dr. Lanquist is not cheering on the Wildcats, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children traveling, playing board games, discovering delicious restaurants, and snuggling with her two cats. Dr. Lanquist is grateful and humbled to have the opportunity to work for DoDEA Europe South District. She is thrilled for this next adventure serving alongside faculty, staff, students, parents, and community in Naples, Italy.
