Sara Guth

Ms. Sara Guth has been honored to serve military-connected students for over twenty years in DoDEA schools, inspired by her family’s tradition of military service and her own experiences as a DoDEA student. Her DoDEA journey began in Germany where she taught at Bitburg and Landstuhl. Then she moved to Fort Liberty, NC as a classroom teacher and reading interventionist. She returned to Germany in a new role supporting schools, administrators, and teachers as a PK-5 Instructional System Specialist (ISS) of science, literacy, and humanities at the Europe East district in Kaiserslautern. She transitioned into the world of school administration in 2022 as the assistant principal of Patch Elementary. Now she is thrilled to join the Sigonella Elementary family as the principal.

Ms. Guth values lifelong learning whether empowering students, pursuing her personal goals, or taking on new roles as a professional. She is a doctoral candidate in the Leadership Studies program at Marshall University, focusing on data-driven decision-making and instructional change. Ms. Guth earned a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix in 2005 and a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2000. 

Ms. Guth and her family enjoy spending time together attending concerts and sporting events, cooking, biking, and hiking with their dog. They love the adventures that a military-connected life offers: meeting new people with broad perspectives, traveling the world, and experiencing other cultures.

Ms. Guth is committed to success for every student. She believes in the power of collaborative, reflective, and nurturing partnerships between students, educators, and families. All students will succeed when provided engaging opportunities and the level of support required to match their unique needs. She is eager to join the Sigonella Elementary team and its work keeping students at the heart of all they do.
