Seanie Sunshine Munoz
Biography
I am honored to join the team at Wiesbaden Elementary as an Assistant Principal.
I have worked in the field of Special Education for over 20 years, and I am dedicated and passionate about providing students with positive, enriching, and quality life experiences.
I began my career as Program Director for an assisted living facility for teens and adults with Traumatic Brain Injuries. After having my daughter in 2004, I began working for Alamo Heights ISD in San Antonino, Texas, as an Early Childhood and Elementary Special Educator.Â
While living in San Antonio, I began working with students with moderate to profound disabilities. In 2015, my daughter and I relocated to Iwakuni, Japan, where I worked as a Training and Curriculum Specialist for Child, Youth, and Teen Services. During my tenure as the training and curriculum specialist for CYS, I became the content expert specialist for early intervention services and supporting challenging behaviors. I also supported the community in finding sources to help support and identify early intervention services for military children and their families.
I moved to Texas in 2019 and began working as an Elementary Life Skills teacher for CY-Fair ISD. I was selected in 2020 to serve as the curriculum coordinator for Cy-Fair's community programs and early learning centers. Another honor in my career was being nominated as Teacher of the Year for Cy-Fair ISD and runner-up for Texas Teacher of the Year.
I relocated to Germany in 2021 to work as the Training and Curriculum Specialist for CYS in Baumholder and Landstuhl, Germany. With Wanderlust and a desire to return to my true passion for special education, I sought a new venture in DODEA as the LIMM/EI teacher for Humphreys West Elementary School. While at HWES, I took on Leadership roles, including Radar Kids Committee Member, MTSS Special Education Representative, LIMS inerrant teacher, Behavioral Specialist, Grade Level Chair, and CSC chair.
As a Texas State certified special and general educator, I hold a bachelor's degree in Anthropology and Psychology from Southwest Texas State University, a master's degree from the University of Phoenix in Cross-Categorical Special Education, and I am currently defending my dissertation for a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Special Education.
