Ball Control Sports
The Ball Control Sports (year-long) course provides a variety of opportunities for high school students to continue developing movement skills and conceptual knowledge in selected sports and individual non-competitive physical activities. Also, students will demonstrate knowledge of psychological and sociological concepts, principles, and strategies as they apply to learning and performance of physical activity. Students will Demonstrate advanced knowledge in game/situation rules, strategies and terminologies for basketball, hockey, flag football and soccer Identify and demonstrate the characteristics and critical elements of a highly skilled performance and strategies for basketball, hockey, flag football and soccer Describe and demonstrate the use of the safety equipment required for participation in basketball, hockey, flag football and soccer Demonstrate knowledge of psychological and sociological concepts, principles, and strategies that apply to the learning and performance of physical activity Demonstrate ability to design and implement a fitness program for life. Course Note: This course satisfies the Elective (1 of 5 credits) graduation requirement.
