Literature Enrichment A

The Literature Enrichment A (nine-week) course is aligned to College and Career Ready Learning Standards and designed to offer students the opportunity to examine, analyze and critique a specific work of literature that is appropriately complex for the specific grades or grade bands enrolled in the course. Students will apply close reading strategies to determine central ideas and themes and how these interact over the course of a piece of literature. Students will develop skills related to the craft and structure of literary writing and how these shape tone, style and content. Through individual and shared reading experiences students will experience the pleasure and social aspects of reading.
