Ms. Chanelle Reese has been chosen as the inaugural Dr. Linda L. Curtis Educator of Promise recipient. Ms. Reese has demonstrated remarkable leadership as a teacher, and as a champion for military-connected students and families. During a challenging period of global uncertainty, Ms. Reese was instrumental in helping her colleagues achieve their best work as they transitioned to digital learning; and kept student’s spirits up through online ‘QuaranTeacher’ events.


Ms. Reese has twelve years of teaching experience, two of which have been with DoDEA. She began her career teaching elementary school in North Carolina, and has taught CTE, Math, and has participated in Administrative Internships in North Carolina as well. Prior to her current teaching position at Kadena ES, Ms. Reese taught 5th grade and Tarawa Terrace Elementary School in North Carolina.


Ms. Reese earned her Bachelor’s degree from Lamar University in Business Administration Management Systems, a Master of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education from East Carolina University, and a Master of School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She serves on the CSI team at her school, is the 5th grade Representative, Math Mentor Site Representative, and the ENCORE Team Leader. 


She is a military spouse, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and serves in her community through the ASPIRE Mentorship program.
