Radley Ramirez
BAUMHOLDER MIDDLE HIGH SCHOOL — February 24, 2020 — Radley Ramirez was announced today as the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Europe East District Teacher of the Year. Mr. Ramirez is an Educational Technologist who serves and supports the students and teachers at Baumholder Middle High School.
Mr. Ramirez has served over a decade as a member of the School Improvement Leadership Team helping integrate the use of technology to support BMHS’ education goals. He likes to constantly research the upcoming needs of the business world and upcoming technology trends to ready students for the emerging 4th Industrial Revolution currently focusing on the change Artificial Intelligence is bringing and Agile Management (SCRUM).
Mr. Ramirez was born in Olongapo City, Philippines but calls Virginia Beach, Virginia his home. He graduated from Old Dominion University in 1999 with a Master of Science in Education. In his spare time, he loves training and teaching Filipino martial arts, to consistently struggle playing Chopin’s and Beethoven’s compositions on the piano, traveling to eat, and working on his photography.
Mr. Ramirez strongly believes in being proactive and is a solution oriented person. He believes in creating a comfortable and supportive environment, for both the staff and students, allowing for exploration and learning with technology. He values strong positive leadership and consistently looks to create or support programs where students can grow as positive student leaders and always seeks to aid teacher leaders in their vision.
Mr. Ramirez now moves on to the DoDEA Teacher of the Year program.
