CAMP HUMPHREYS – It was a bright Thursday morning at Humphreys Middle School, and the fifth graders were buzzing with excitement. Mr. Koch, Mr. Preddy, and Mrs. Lee-Kown’s classes were preparing for a special field trip – they were going to visit the Camp Humphreys 2ID Museum, the Sentry USO, and the recreation center at U.S. Army Garrison Humphreys.

"Class, this is a unique opportunity to learn about our military history and the services provided to our soldiers and their families," Mr. Koch explained, addressing his students. "We'll also get to enjoy some fun activities at the recreation center."

On the day of the field trip students boarded the base buses with their chaperones, including Mr. Koch, Mr. Preddy, and Mrs. Lee-Kwon, support staff, and fifth grade parents.

"Welcome to the 2ID Museum," the guide said. "Here, you'll learn about the history of the 2nd Infantry Division and its role in various conflicts."

The students were fascinated by the exhibits, which included uniforms, weapons, and personal stories of soldiers. They learned about the bravery and sacrifices of the men and women who served in the division.

The group headed to the USO, where they were introduced to the various programs and services offered to soldiers and their families. The students were particularly interested in the care packages sent to deployed troops and the entertainment events organized by the USO.

The tour also included the recreation center. The students were thrilled to see the wide range of activities available.

As the classes walked back to Humphreys Middle School, the students chatted excitedly about their experiences. They had learned so much about the military and enjoyed visiting the recreation center.
