Okinawa, Japan —

DoDEA Pacific District leaders have been coordinating with military installation commands and public health officials to determine offerings for winter athletics and Far East academic activities. The winter season will begin November 4, 2021 and run through February 11, 2022.

Athletics

The Pacific West District (Korea, Guam), Pacific East District (mainland Japan), and Pacific South District (Okinawa) plan to offer a full winter athletics schedule including boys and girls basketball, wrestling, marksmanship, and cheerleading.

In Korea and Japan, competition will be limited to intra-district play between installations and will be limited to locations that can be traveled using a DoDEA bus. In Guam, student athletes will compete on-island in the Independent Interscholastic Athletic Association of Guam (IIAAG).

Please understand while our intent is to offer a full schedule, these plans may change at any time due to shifts in local conditions

Far East Academic Events

Culinary Arts Far East (CAFE) and Drama & Performing Arts Festival (DPA) will transition to a hybrid intra-district model. Students will gather in-person within their district and will participate virtually with their peers across the DoDEA Pacific Region. Far East Model Congress/United Nations will remain a virtual event.

The DoDEA Pacific Region would like to thank our installation command and public health partners for their support of our military-connected students as we continue to strive to provide athletic and academic opportunities while adhering to appropriate mitigation strategies that support safe and healthy programs.
