Camp Zama, Japan —

Dr. Judy Allen, DoDEA Pacific East District Superintendent, is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Edwin Munoz as Principal for Arnn Elementary School.

Dr. Edwin Munoz comes to Japan from Spangdahlem, Germany, where he has served the Spangdahlem Air Base community for the past three years as the Assistant Principal. Dr. Munoz brings fifteen years of experience as both a classroom teacher and instructional leader from Pre-K through high school. An Army veteran and career changer, Dr Munoz’ journey in education began in Florida, as a middle school science teacher. He then transitioned to Saint Lucie County, Florida, where he served as a K-8 assistant principal, a middle school dean, a high school dean, and an elementary school assistant principal. In September 2017, Dr. Munoz joined the DoDEA team. His former experiences in the Armed Forces were influential in his decision to serve our military-connected children.

Dr. Munoz earned his bachelor’s degree in Human Ecology at College of the Atlantic, a Masters of Science in Professional Management at University of Miami, his Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership at NOVA Southeastern University, and his Doctor of Philosophy in Instructional Design and Technology at Keiser University. He is a lifelong learner who believes in the importance of education in helping people be productive and positive members of society.
