Dr. Sarah Branam Education Research Analyst

South Korea —

Dr. Jacob Sherwood, Pacific West District Superintendent, is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Sarah Branam as the Education Research Analyst.

Dr. Branam earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Mathematics Teaching from University of Indianapolis; a Master of Science in Computer Science: Software Engineering from University of West Florida; and a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University. 

Dr. Branam started her teaching career in the Indianapolis area and later moved to Florida where she worked in Hillsborough County. While in Hillsborough County she facilitated secondary mathematics professional learning including the district roll-out of the Common Core Standards for Mathematics. She then moved abroad and spent 5 years in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates as a part of their initiative to reform education in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. She worked at a public high school to bring English as the language of instruction to secondary mathematics classes. 

Dr. Branam has worked for DoDEA since 2018, first as a math and computer science teacher at Humphreys High School in Korea where she also served as the School Improvement Data Chair. She then moved to Vicenza, Italy to work as a 6-12 Mathematics ISS in Europe South.  Dr. Branam returned to Korea in March as the Pacific West 6-12 Mathematics ISS. 

As Dr. Branam transitions to the role of Education Research Analyst she is looking forward to working with all the fantastic school communities in Pacific West. 

Dr. Branam and her husband, Clay, have been married for 15 years and have three children, Oliver, 9, Logan, 8, and Quinn, 6.
