FORT CAMPBELL, KY —

Hugh McKinnon, Fort Campbell Community Superintendent, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jamie Romero as the new principal of Fort Campbell High School. Romero brings a wealth of experience and a proven history of educational leadership to this role.

Romero began his educational career in 2006 with Miami-Dade County Public Schools in Florida, where he taught 2nd – 5th grades at Kendale Elementary. He later served as a math coach at Laura C. He was later named interim assistant principal at South Dade Senior High School.

During his tenure in Miami-Dade, Mr. Romero garnered several accolades, including Rookie Teacher of the Year and two-time Teacher of the Year. He was also recognized as an emerging leader in education through the iLead program at Florida International University.

Romero joined the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) in 2017 as a teacher at Diamond Elementary School. He later advanced to the role of K-5 Math Instructional Systems Specialist for the Fort Stewart/South Carolina Community, where he provided support in mathematics and professional development for seven schools. Most recently, Romero was the assistant principal for Fort Campbell High School.

Mr. Romero holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Florida International University, a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.

"I am honored to continue serving the DoDEA community at Fort Campbell," said Romero. "I remain committed to collaborating with all stakeholders to advance DoDEA's mission and to provide the best possible educational experience for our students."
