Japan —

Due to the ongoing state of emergency in certain areas particularly in Tokyo and the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) and Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) have made the joint decision to postpone the student cultural and exchange camps at Sasebo and Iwakuni until conditions allow.

The health and safety of student participants is our priority.

MOFA and DoDEA look forward to holding this bilateral initiative in the future.

About DoDEA

DoDEA plans, directs, coordinates, and manages pre-kindergarten through 12th grade education programs for school-aged children of Department of Defense personnel who would otherwise not have access to high-quality public education. DoDEA schools are located in Europe, the Pacific, Western Asia, the Middle East, Cuba, the United States, Guam, and Puerto Rico. DoDEA also provides support and resources to Local Educational Activities throughout the United States that serve children of military families.
