Mr. David Ballesteros-Burkett Announced as Principal of Lakenheath ES

RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom – April 12, 2021 - Mr. Kent Worford, Superintendent Europe West District announces that Mr. David Ballesteros-Burkett has been selected as Principal for Lakenheath Elementary School, RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom.

During his 26 years in education, Mr. Ballesteros-Burkett has worked with children as a teacher’s aide, classroom teacher, elective’s specialist, and administrator. In South Korea, he was the Assistant Principal of Casey Elementary School, as well as Daegu American Elementary School with additional duties as the Administrator of C.T. Joy Elementary School. He was Principal of both Stearley Heights Elementary School and Kadena Elementary School in Okinawa. He has taught elementary and middle school students in the United States, Japan, Germany, and South Korea.

An Ohio native, but an Arizona transplant, Mr. Ballesteros-Burkett earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Kent State University, a post-baccalaureate from the University of Akron in elementary education, a Master’s degree from The Ohio State University in Policy and Leadership, and is currently working towards his doctorate in Deaf Studies.

Mr. Ballesteros-Burkett and his spouse, who teaches for DoDEA, have two children. Both of their sons, Jonas and Felix, attend DoDEA schools. In their free time, the family likes traveling, cheering their sons during sporting events, watching movies and YouTube, and spending time with friends and family.

Mr. Ballesteros-Burkett is honored to work with our military-connected children, faculty, parents, and military community in the important mission of educating, engaging, and empowering student to succeed. He is thrilled to be at Lakenheath Elementary School, home of the Eagles.
