Mr. Henry LeFebre named principal of Sollars Elementary School

Misawa, Japan —

Department of Defense Education Activity Pacific East District Superintendent Dr. Jacqueline Ferguson is pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Henry “Hank” LeFebre as principal of Sollars Elementary School.

Mr. LeFebre comes to Sollars Elementary from Zama Middle High School, where he has served as principal since 2020.

Mr. LeFebre began his career in education in the fall of 1995 in St Petersburg, Fla. teaching middle school Social Studies and high school A.P. American History and coaching multiple sports.  Mr. LeFebre joined DoDEA in the fall of 2005, teaching Gifted Education at Osan Elementary (2005-2009). Mr. LeFebre then transferred to RAF Alconbury, UK (2009- 2011) where he taught Gifted Education, Read 180 and Physical Education, as well as coached football and softball. Mr. LeFebre then returned to Korea – this time to Camp Humphreys – where he taught middle school Social Studies and AVID (2011-2012). He went on to serve as assistant principal at E.J. King Middle/High School (2012-2015) and principal of Darby Elementary (2015-2020).

Mr. LeFebre’ s education includes a bachelor's degree in social sciences from Colorado State University and two master’s degrees – one in Education Leadership from the University of South Florida, and another in Technology Leadership from Northcentral University.

Mr. LeFebre is originally from Pueblo, Colorado and is a passionate educational leader and sports fan. LTC (Ret.) LeFebre is a proud, long-serving military servicemember. During his time of service, he worked in the G-3 shop at USARJ, and in the J-5 shop of U.S. Forces Japan.

Mr. LeFebre’s educational philosophy is kids first, teachers always, and work smarter not harder by making data do the heavy lifting!

Mr. LeFebre, his wife Jami, and their two children, Camille and Sydney, look forward to joining the Misawa community and exploring all that the Amori and surrounding prefectures have to offer.
