Ms. Ivette Silvas selected ET/SIS Instructional System Specialist - Guam

Dr. Jacob Sherwood, DoDEA Pacific West District Superintendent, is pleased to announce the selection of Ms. Ivette Silvas as the Educational Technologist (ET) / Student Information System (SIS) Instructional System Specialist at the Guam Field Office.
Ms. Silvas is an accomplished Educational Technologist with a 26-year career. Her passion lies in integrating technology effectively within educational contexts. Her DoDEA experience includes serving as a sixth-grade teacher, ESOL specialist, and Educational Technologist in Iwakuni, Japan prior to assignments at Seoul American Elementary School and Osan Elementary School. Most recently, she contributed her expertise to Naples Elementary School as both a sixth-grade math teacher and an Educational Technologist.Â
Before joining DoDEA, Mrs. Silvas worked in the Clark County School District (Las Vegas, NV), San Marcos Unified (San Marcos, CA), and Mountain View School District (El Monte, CA). Her roles included general education teacher, ESOL specialist, and Assistant Principal.
Ms. Silvas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University of Los Angeles. She also earned a Master of Science in Urban Education and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from NOVA Southeastern University in Las Vegas, NV.
Mrs. Silvas, a California native, takes pride in being the parent of both a daughter, a U.S. Navy veteran, and a son, currently serving in the U.S. Navy. She is happily married to Mr. Adam B. Silvas, who is also an educator with DoDEA.
