Ms. Julienne DuBenion Selected as new Principal for Aviano Elementary School.

Aviano, Italy —

Dr. Jeff Arrington, DoDEA Europe South District Superintendent, is pleased to announce the selection of Ms. Julienne DuBenion as the new Principal for Aviano Elementary School.

Ms. DuBenion is a dedicated advocate for educational excellence, emphasizing continuous improvement, student achievement, and strong school-community partnerships. She began her career in the Norfolk Public School System in Virginia and joined the Department of Defense Education Activity in 2010 as an elementary teacher at Fort Stewart Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia. She later served as the Math Specialist at Brittin Elementary School before becoming an Instructional Systems Specialist in 2016 for the DoDEA Europe South District in Vicenza, Italy, where she led elementary Science and Mathematics programs.

Ms. DuBenion holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Old Dominion University, along with two master’s degrees—one in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment (K-12 Reading Specialist) and another in Educational Leadership and Supervision. She is certified in mathematics, science, and instructional coaching, and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Strategic and Organizational Leadership.

Ms. DuBenion believes that every child has unique strengths and talents. She is devoted to creating a safe and student-focused learning environment, prioritizing students’ joy of learning and equity in instruction. The proud mother of two DoDEA students, Ms. DuBenion feels honored for this opportunity and looks forward to continuing her service to students, staff, and community at Aviano Air Base. Ms. DuBenion is eager to bring her passion and expertise to this new role and make a positive impact on the educational journey of every student.
