Ms. Kaitlyn Aleong Instructional Systems Specialist for Mathematics 6-12
PAC West —
Dr. Jacob Sherwood, Pacific West District Superintendent, is pleased to announce the selection of Kaitlyn Aleong as Instructional Systems Specialist for Mathematics 6-12.
Mrs. Aleong earned her Master of Science in Educational Administration and her Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Emporia State University. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education – Secondary Mathematics from Baylor University.Â
Mrs. Aleong began her education career in Texas where she taught mathematics to students with a variety of learning needs at traditional high schools and an early college high school. Upon leaving Texas, she had the privilege of working with children at the Child Development Center in Hohenfels, Germany. When Mrs. Aleong returned to the United States she resumed teaching high school mathematics in Missouri, Kansas, and, most recently, Texas. She has had the opportunity to lead content teams, develop curriculum, and pilot numerous programs and strategies leading to an increase in student achievement. In 2022, Mrs. Aleong transitioned from the classroom to a curriculum coach position working with high school mathematics and science teachers.
Mrs. Aleong and her husband, Andre, have been married for ten years. As an active-duty military spouse, Mrs. Aleong has a passion for serving students in DoDEA who make the sacrifice of moving around the world with their families. She is excited to join the Pac-West team to support mathematics education across the district.Â
