The Pacific South DSO is pleased to introduce Mr. Craig Maxey – New Principal of Ryukyu Middle School
Okinawa, Japan —
The Pacific South Superintendent’s Office is pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Craig Maxey as the Principal of Ryukyu Middle School in Okinawa, Japan.
Mr. Maxey earned a B.S. in Science Education from Indiana Wesleyan University and a M.A. in Educational Leadership and Administration from Ball State University.
Mr. Maxey began his teaching career in middle school science at R.J. Baskett Middle School in Grant County, IN before joining DoDEA at Robert D. Edgren HS in 2011. While at Edgren, Mr. Maxey taught a myriad of middle and high school science courses, coached soccer, and served in various leadership positions.
After serving at the Pacific East District Superintendent’s Office as the Secondary Science Instructional Systems Specialist, Mr. Maxey transitioned into the assistant principal position at Nile C. Kinnick High School in the fall of 2015. Mr. Maxey was then selected as the principal of Kinnick High School prior to the 2018-19 school year. He has been honored to serve the CFAY community for the last five and a half years and will miss the Yo-Hi Red Devils.
Mr. Maxey is excited to return to Okinawa and transition to his new role as the principal of Ryukyu Middle School. He is a graduate of Kadena High School and previously lived in Okinawa for four years while his father served in the United States Marine Corps. He looks forward to joining the Habu family and meeting the RMS students, parents and teachers.
