Guam —
DoDEA Pacific West District Superintendent Dr. Jacob Sherwood is pleased to announce the selection of Mrs. Pamela Borgert as principal of Andersen Elementary School, located at Andersen Air Base in Guam.
Mrs. Borgert is an experienced educator whose goal is to create thinking, caring, lifelong learners. She began her career in education in 1999 and has taught hundreds of military-connected students over more than two decades at schools in California, Germany, Alaska, Virginia, and Korea. Mrs. Borgert transitioned to school administration in 2020 as the Assistant Principal at Andersen Elementary School. She served as an Instructional Systems Specialist at the Guam Community Superintendent’s Office during the 2022-2023 school year prior to being selected as the Principal at Andersen Elementary School in October 2023.
As a military spouse of more than 30 years and the mother of two children who attended DoDEA schools in Germany and Okinawa, Mrs. Borgert has always been a vested stakeholder. Even when not employed as an educator, she was still actively involved in education. She served as the Hanscom Air Force Base installation representative to the Lincoln Public School Board, tutored students who needed after‐school instructional support at multiple bases and organized a volunteer‐operated Homework Club at the Kadena Air Base Youth Center.
“I have been fortunate to be a part of the military community for many years,” Borgert said. “We serve a very unique and special group of students. It is truly an honor for me to support our military connected students, and I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving the military community at Andersen Elementary School.”
Mrs. Borgert received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio but ultimately realized the classroom was her true calling. She returned to school and earned a teaching credential from California State University and the University of California, Los Angeles, then completed a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration, Curriculum, and Supervision from the University of Oklahoma. A lifelong learner, she also completed continuing education courses from Alaska Pacific University, Walden University, and University of San Diego.
In their spare time, Mrs. Borgert and her husband enjoy traveling, scuba diving, and spending time with family and friends.
